Brad Marchand is not new to disciplinary measures from the NHL Department of Player Safety. The Boston Bruins forward is the player in NHL history with the most individual suspensions, and just last week, he was at it again.
Brad Marchand has been suspended for slew-footing an opponent before and during a matchup against the Seattle Kraken. Marchand and Bjorkstrand got into an argument after a whistle, and during some wrestle between them, Marchand wrapped his leg around Bjorkstrand to slew foot him.
Marchand got away without a suspension this time but was assessed a $5,000 fine for the dangerous trip, the Department of Player Safety announced Friday.
Brad Marchand has been suspended seven times and has missed a total of 28 games because of it. He’s also lost nearly $1.4 million of salary over his 13-year career in the NHL.

But Marchand himself doesn’t seem to bother by the NHL’s decision. Marchand isn’t the guy who feels sorry for himself or regrets how he is on the ice. Instead, he made a hilarious announcement on his Twitter this weekend.
All of a sudden, Marchand announced that he was back on Cameo, the website that lets people request personalized video messages from celebrities. Does Marchand really need more money? Well, yes, according to him.
Marchand jokingly wrote that there’s a reason behind his comeback on Cameo.
”Back on cameo we all know why,” he wrote.
Marchand is, of course, talking about how he needs some more money to cover his latest fine. What a hilarious guy!
