The matchup between the Edmonton Oilers and St. Louis Blues was wild. When Kailer Yamamoto scored the 3-1 goal in the third period with 10:36 on the clock, everyone thought that the Oilers would leave the game with two points.
But the Blues pulled off a strong comeback and tied the game with just 20 seconds to go, with a goal by Vladimir Tarasenko.
Blues had lost six of their previous eight games, and when the team needed him the most, Jordan Binnington came up clutch with a shutout in the shootout session.
Binnington made 24 saves in regulation and overtime and kept Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Connor McDavid, and Leon Draisaitl from scoring to grab the W.

Binnington’s had a tough campaign so far and has been criticized heavily by experts, but this victory showed he’s back in form. And afterward, he was in a great mood. Binnington is known for having a hot temper, but he’s also a jokester when things go his way.
And when Binnington talked about his penalty saves on TV post-game, he actually called Connor McDavid by a quiet humbling nickname.
”McJesus here, yeah…,” he said, making the crew on TV burst out in laughter.
Jordan Binnington was overall happy with his and the team’s performance.
“It was a big character win, guys stepped up,” Binnington said. “We had to overcome some self-inflicted adversity.
“It happens and you have to rise up and I think coming through at the end like that at the end of the third period to tie it up was massive. You could feel the excitement from the boys on the bench. It is one of those wins that we will remember moving forward.”
