Pat Maroon is one of the biggest guys in the league, and he’s always used it to his advantage. Maroon isn’t afraid of anyone and brings some well-needed physical presence to the Tampa Bay Lightning team. Pat Maroon has played 12 seasons in the NHL and for almost 700 games. He’s now 34, and although he was a lot faster and sleeker when he was younger, he’s still an important player and a well-liked teammate.
Listed at 6-foot-2, 238 pounds, few people in the NHL are bigger than Maroon, but not everyone is a fan of it. Boston Bruins play-by-play announcer Jack Edwards has always spoken his mind about anything. If a thought pops up in his head, it goes directly through the mouth, and that was the case in last night’s matchup between the Bruins and Tampa Bay Lightning.

As Maroon was on the ice, he was chirped hard by Edwards, who took aim at the forward’s weight and suggested that Maroon perhaps should cut down on the pizza.
“Listed at 238 pounds. That was Day One of training camp and I have got a feeling he’s had a few more pizzas before then and now,” Edwards said.
Edwards continued by joking about how it would be if Maroon were on a fasting diet.
“Inadvertent fasting for Pat Maroon is like going four hours without a meal,” said Edwards, laughing. “But hey three Cups in a row who can argue with his formula?”
