Trevor Zegras is one of the NHL’s most exciting players. Last season, his rookie season, he was nominated for Calder and scored 23 goals and 61 points. He was eventually voted the runner-up to Detroit’s Moritz Seider for the Calder but gained a lot of praise and fame worldwide.
Zegras did some spectacular plays during his rookie year, including a Michigan flip pass assist.
This summer, he was named the cover star for EA Sports NHL 23, and it’s a big season coming up for the young star.
But last night, Zegras was forced to leave Anaheim Ducks’ pre-season game against Arizona due to an injury.

With 8 minutes played in the second period, Zegras moved the puck into the neutral zone. His eyes were clued to the ice as Coyotes forward Jan Jenik approached with a spectacular hit. Zegras was downed immediately and had some trouble getting up.
He left the game and didn’t return, and the Ducks officially list it as an upper-body injury. Jan Jenik wasn’t assessed a penalty for the hit, but Ducks forward Adam Henrique chased him down for a fight.
Fans believe it was the right call not to penalize Jenik for the hit. Instead, many believe it was unnecessary of Henrique to start a fight after a clean hit. What do you think?
