The Colorado Avalanche swept the Nashville Predators in the first round of this year’s playoffs. The Avalanche won in four straight games, and Cale Makar was a big reason for it.
On Monday, the young defenseman got his nomination for the Norris Trophy and celebrated with yet another goal and two assists in the 5-3 win in Game 4. Makar had 10 points in the sweep, and many now believe that Makar is the best D-Man in the league and one of the best players.
Although the Preds lost four straight games, the atmosphere in the Bridgestone Arena was impressive, but during Game 4, the fans also misbehaved against Cale Makar. During last night’s post-game presser, Makar revealed that the Preds fans threw candy at him.
“It was just in the last minute of the game there. I’m not too sure,” Makar said.
“They were throwing stuff over the glass before. Not a fun way for your team to end a season like that. But a couple of Skittles hit me during play.”
Cale Makar, however, didn’t stay on the topic for too long and ended the presser by giving the fans in Nashville some praise as well.
” It is what it is,” Makar said later. “If they want to do that, that’s fine. Like I said, they have a great fan base here and it was super loud tonight and it showed right from puck drop.”
