Jason Robertson falls to the ice after big hit; every fan in the NHL loves what he does two seconds later.
It’s a special feeling when you see a big and clean hit in hockey. But today, it’s often that a big hit leads to something more, with the player getting tackled wanting to get revenge in however way possible. A sequence in the game between the Vancouver Canucks and the Dallas Stars last night gets every hockey fan to now stand up and applaud.
Stars player Jason Robertson skated towards the offensive zone during the game but suddenly found himself hammered by big guy Tyler Myers. Robertson quickly fell to the ice but didn’t stay there for long. Instead, he quickly got up on his skates and handed out an ever more clean and big hit on Tyler Myers. Talk about getting a taste of his own medicine.
Nobody came after Robertson after his hit either, and fans love that two guys can give out big, clean hits without anger or fighting. Just look at some of the comments on the sequence.
” That’s f*cking hockey right there,” one user says.
” I really enjoyed this retaliation from Robertson. Didn’t go for a cheap shot, didn’t drop the gloves after a clean hit. Just went laid a great hit and that was the end of it,” says another one.
” Wait, not one, but TWO clean, hard hits, neither resulting in an ‘answer the bell’ fight? And play continued???
” Folks, I think we’ve hit peak hockey,” says one.
” Need to show this to all the clowns that jump people after a hit.
” Well done by Robbo,” says another.
