Connor McDavid can’t keep scoring. Last night, against the LA Kings, ”McJesus” once again stole the show, and to top it off, he scored the smoothest shootout goal of the year.
Connor McDavid scored the Oilers’ third goal of the evening, but the game was tied after three periods, 3-3. Leon Draisaitl, who also scored a goal in the game, first scored his shootout, and then McDavid stepped up. He skated up at full speed and quickly made the goalkeeper look like a fool, putting the puck in the net.
Connor McDavid also put up an assist in the game, and his two points in the game meant he once again reached the magical number of 100. McDavid has now reached 100 points in his last five seasons, and that’s how many seasons Mark Messier did it in Edmonton.
McDavid is now just one season with 100 points away from Jari Kurri. Wayne Gretzky had nine seasons with 100 points with the Oilers, and with how McDavid is playing right now, that seems reachable, to say the least.
