Phil Kessel perhaps isn’t the notorious scoring machine he used to be, but at the age of 34, he’s still putting up some impressive numbers. In 50 games this season, Kessel has six goals to his name, along with 27 assists, in the Arizona Coyotes team that’s struggled all year.
Phil Kessel’s contract expires this season, and several teams are interested in signing the veteran. However, if the Coyotes want something in return, a trade has to happen soon. That’s where the Boston Bruins comes into play.
The Bruins would need more depth wingers if they want to go for the Cup this year, and Phil Kessel would be a beneficial signing.
According to David Pagnotta, Arizona would like to trade Kessel, and, likely, they can even retain half of his cap hit.
Pagnotta names Boston Bruins as one of the teams possible for a trade, and it would be exciting, as it was the Bruins who drafted Kessel back in 2006.
It’s now been 13 years since Kessel played a game for the Bruins, and since then, Kessel has won two Stanley Cups, both with Pittsburgh Penguins. Now he’s after a third one, and Boston Bruins could be just the team to help him get it.
