Jaromir Jagr is truly a phenomenon. The Czech forward played his first professional match in the ’80s and is still active in his native country.
Jagr has turned 49, and last year he made a crazy promise that he would continue to play until his 50’s, and it looks like Jagr will live up to that promise, as he turns 50 in a couple of weeks.
The high-profile forward has played 29 games for Rytiri Kladno this season in the Czech top league and has scored 19 points.
He still got it on the ice and continues to be an incredible player to follow and listen to even off the ice. For example, in an interview on Czech television, he got interviewed by a child and gave the most awesome answer to a random question.
The young girl asked Jaromir Jagr which book he most recently read.
“It was a book about Jaromir Jagr, called Jaromir Jagr,” he says in the interview.
And the answer is loved by literally everyone.
“I hope that one day I will love myself as much as Jagr loves Jagr,” writes one user on Reddit.
“None of us will ever be as awesome as Jagr,” writes another.
“Jaromir Jagr’s favorite player when he was young was Jaromir Jagr,” writes a third.”
The Czechs played in the NHL between 1991 and 2017 and lifted the Stanley Cup twice.
