The Stanley Cup Finals is ongoing, with the Dallas Stars leading the series 1-0 against Tampa Bay.
One thing that’s for certain is that Lord Stanley will stay in the US. Sure, it will be handed out in the Canadian bubble, but it has been a long time since a Canadian team won.
Last time it happened was way back in 1993, with the Montreal Canadiens beating the Los Angeles Kings 4-1.
Last night however, they Canadian people had something to cheer for. Canadian TV show Schitts Creek won six prizes at the Emmy Awards.
Host Jimmy Kimmel took the opportunity to chirp Hockey Canada, saying that the show could’ve traded for the Stanley Cup if they had won one more award.
During the evening, Kimmel also put out a picture on Twitter that sent people into meltdown.
People didn’t hold back in responding to Kimmel. But mostly, people loved it.
