Few things can beat the feeling of scoring an awesome goal. Sometimes it includes a great setup like the Soviet in the 80’s and other times it might be a great individual effort, including dangles. And what better way to celebrate than with a quality celly?
I bet that most hockey players sometime during their career have created cellies with their teammates. It often includes more than just fist pumps, jumping against the boards or raising your arms. The more creative, the more fun it usually gets.
We all remember the Teemu Selanne with the duck hunter celly, or Bobby Orr’s epic flying goal.
However, sometimes celebrations can go horribly wrong. And for former Capital Stanislav Galiev, it almost included him knocking out one of his teammates.
Galiev, now playing for Ak Bars Kazan in the KHL, scored a goal and decided to to a simple celebration. The fist pump is a classic, but while doing it behind the net, teammate Artyom Galimov snuck up from behind and nearly got hit in the face.
Of course, we don’t want any player to get injured during a hockey game.
But one thing is for certain: the “Galiev fist pump” would’ve been a classic celly for many years to come.
