New York Rangers goaltender Igor Shesterkin and forward Pavel Buchnevich were involved in a car accident Sunday night New York Rangers president John Davidson confirmed on a press conference.
The accident happened in Brooklyn where the driver in front made a U-turn which led to the collision. Both Shesterkin and Buchnevich wore seatbelts and the air bags deployed.
They were taken to the NY Presbyterian hospital and seen by the New York Rangers doctors.
Buchnevich was shaken up but didn’t get any significant injuries, with the forward being day-to-day.
Shesterkin suffered a small rib fracture and will be re-evaluated in a couple of weeks.
