Brad Marchand and Ryan Lindgren aren’t best buddies after the Bruins and the Rangers clashed at the Garden. Post-game, the Bruins’ star
Following the incident with Marchand cross checking Lindgren from the back, the Bruins’ star forward ripped into the Rangers blue liner post-game with a couple of well-spoken words.
The incident occured in the second period, with Marchand cross checking Lindgren from behind. Moments later, he was knocked to the ice from Rangers forward Pavel Buchnevich who skated of the ice without getting a penalty. Instead it was Marchand who received two minutes for a retaliatory hit.
Marchand put up one assist in the 3-1 victory. And after the game, he took another shot at Lindgren.
“I didn’t even know he was here,” Marchand said. “He’s not gonna be a player who’s gonna have a very long career, so I’m not overly concerned about him.”
Lindgren’s a former second-round pick of the Bruins. His rights were acquired by the Rangers in a trade in 2018, with Rick Nash going the opposite way along with Ryan Spooner and Matt Beleskey.
Brad Marchand added that he has no history on the ice with Lindgren.
“He’s a good steady defenseman but there’s nothing that has come up in the past,”, Marchand said. “All the best to him, hope he does a great job, but I can’t see it.”
Rangers forward Tony DeAngelo wasn’t happy with the Marchand quotes post-game, responding on Twitter.
“Lindgren will be in the league for a long time actually. Save your cold blooded BS”, DeAngelo wrote.
