Phil Kessel finally explains the truth – about his one chair(!) movie room

This summer, Phil Kessel did it yet again: Made the whole hockey world smile.

It was when the Arizona Coyotes star sold his house in Pittsburgh – where he played for the Penguins for four years – that the images of the home first went viral.

One picture in particular made fans across North America wonder what Kessel is really up to outside the rink.

The image in question portrayed what seemed to be a movie room.

So far, nothing strange, right? That’s what most NHL stars have in their homes?

Now explains the truth

But what many took as passing stranger, however, is that the movie room had but one single chair.

So … no couch, no cinema seats, just a single chair.

Well, in a bid to calm fans’ curiosity, Kessel has finally revealed the truth about the room.

”I was selling my house and there’s nothing in there. It was used as a bedroom, like a blow-up mattress and everything. I actually never used that movie room one time, but my realtor’s wife thought it was a good thing to put in there one chair or something, make it look like I used it or something. I don’t know, I never used it one time there”, he says, according to Bardown.

We’re sorry to ruin the image of Phil Kessel enjoying a movie, sitting in a single chair in a gigantic, empty room, but there it is.

Kessel finished last season with 27 goals and 82 points from 82 games played.
