Elite goal-scorer Alex Ovechkin has never shied away from throwing his body around.
We learned during his time with Russia during the World Juniors many years ago that Ovi was not only an elite sniper but a solid body checker.
Last night in Washington’s tilt against the Vegas Golden Knights, Ovechkin lambasted Tomas Nosek.

Ovechkin caught Nosek receiving the puck with his head down. When Nosek looked up, he was met with the frame of Ovechkin.
It was a simple, clean open-ice hit that sent Nosek’s stick flying. Nosek was visibly shaken up, despite being able to return to his feet seconds after being dropped.
As I mentioned, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Ovechkin throws his weight around. Ovi has 85 hits at even-strength this season and has totalled over 2300 hits in his career!
