Tom Wilson is back!
After his 20-game suspension was reduced to 14-games, Tom Wilson returned to the Capitals lineup last night and made quite an impact in his return.
Wilsons scored his first of the season, as the Capitals went on to defeat Minnesota 5-2. Wilson etched his name on the scoresheet in more than one way, however.
Independent arbitrator has reduced #caps Tom Wilson's suspension from 20 games to 14. Wilson gets back $378,048 in lost salary. Eligible to play immediately, but effectively a 16-game suspension because the process took so long from Sept. 30 (!) hit.

Yep, in his first game back, Wilson dropped the gloves. Off the draw, Wilson and Wild forward Marcus Foligno dropped the gloves after Mikko Koivu potted his third of the season.
Of course, there is nothing wrong with Wilson fighting. He was eligible to return to the lineup and continued to play his game. I’m sure he’ll be a target in future games as well.
I’m sure the Capitals were happy to see one of their tough-guys return to the lineup, as it helped light a spark under Washington. Wilson’s return helped Washington end a two-game skid.
Oh, Tom. We missed you! ?

Wilson was suspended in the preseason, so last night marked the debut for Wilson in the 2018-2019 regular season.
