With 603 assists to his name, it’s no surprise that Nicklas Backstrom is one of the top playmakers in the league.
Backstrom has spent his career setting up his teammates for goals, and his pass last night stole the show.
Washington would end up defeating Edmonton 4-2, but the pass by Backstrom is what everyone is talking about.
Up 2-1 in the second period, Backstrom did a spin-o-rama pass at the top of the circle to find T.J. Oshie. Oshie made no mistake with the puck, scoring on opposing netminder Cam Talbot and extending the lead to two goals.

The magnificent play was praised by his teammates, but even the opposition had something to say about the nifty assist.
“That’s an all-world pass by one of the best playmakers in the game,” said Talbot of Backstrom’s feed.
Backstrom’s 13 assists are tied for third in the league with many other talented NHL superstars.
The Capitals ended their two-game losing skid with the defeat of the Oilers. Edmonton had their two-game winning streak snapped last night.
Next up, the Capitals will take on rival Pittsburgh, while the Oilers will face Tampa Bay.
