It only took 30 seconds into the NHL season for the Washington Capitals to score their first goal.
The puck had barely been dropped and the banner was just recently raised.

:24 seconds after the biscuit hit the ice, T.J. Oshie opened the scoring to welcome the 2018-2019 season.
Now THAT'S how you start the season with a BANG! First. Shift. Goal. Oshie. #ALLCAPS #CapsBannerNight pic.twitter.com/glLlCC5a8G

Oshie was found on the half-boards on a pass, where he one-timed his first of the season. The crowd was already fired up to open the new campaign and Oshie welcomed the new season with a howitzer.
Not too long after Oshie opened the scoring, Evgeny Kuznetsov scored on the Power Play to make it 2-0 Washington.
I think Kuznetsov will be Top 10 scoring guy this year. I pushed him to all my buds who play Fantasy Hockey 2-0 @Capitals. pic.twitter.com/Ya8491AaHY

Many folks speak about the Stanley Cup hangover, where teams may come out flat after winning the Cup, but if the first two minutes were any indication, the Caps will be firing on all cylinders.
Five minutes into the game, the Capitals already have 10 shots on goal.
