The Boston Bruins and Toronto Maple Leafs’ rivalry has been ongoing for many decades. The two franchises have competed in an abundance of games over the years and the fire between these clubs is still bright and ignited. Tonight, the two teams competed in game 7 for the chance to punch their ticket to the second round.
The first period saw back-and-forth goals, as both teams lit up the lamp. Boston took a 3-2 lead heading into the second period.
In the second, Toronto battled back to re-take the lead, heading into the third and final period up 4-3.
In the third, Boston jumped on the offense early, tying the game at 4 apiece. Then, Jake DeBrusk gave the hometown Bruins the lead and Boston went on to capture game 7 by a score of 7-4. David Pastrnak was the final nail in the coffin for the Leafs. Brad Marchand added a little salt in the wound, scoring an empty net goal.
