The Edmonton Oilers managed to tie their series against the Los Angeles Kings after an overtime win on Sunday. However, last year’s finalists have been criticized for their effort at the beginning of the series. Last night, they were down 2–1, and then the Kings’ Kevin Fiala scored another goal, making it 3–1 for the Kings after poor defending by the Oilers. Connor McDavid’s reaction to the goal now has NHL fans all saying the same thing.
The Edmonton Oilers struggled against the Los Angeles Kings at the start of the Stanley Cup playoffs and were down 2–0 after the first two games. Since then, the Oilers have regained some of their momentum, and on Sunday, they managed to tie the series after winning 4–3 in overtime. But the frustration among the Oilers players has been apparent — something Connor McDavid showed during Game 4.
Struggling power play
Although McDavid has recorded nine points (2+7) through four games, the Oilers have continued to struggle, especially on the power play. Last night, Kings forward Kevin Fiala scored to make it 3–1 for Los Angeles on a breakaway. However, it wasn’t the goal itself that became the main talking point afterward — it was Connor McDavid’s reaction.
Connor McDavid’s Reaction
Sitting on the bench, McDavid shook his head in disbelief.
“At some point, McJesus is going to request a trade,” one person on X (formerly Twitter) wrote.
You can watch the clip below. Game 5 will be played in Los Angeles on Wednesday.
