Filip Gustavsson makes wholesome sign for Marc-Andre Fleury

After more than 20 years in the NHL, Marc-André Fleury is calling it quits. The legendary goalie is playing his final season, and on Thursday, he took the ice for his last game in Montreal, his home province. His goalie partner, Filip Gustavsson, brought a hilarious sign that had everyone laughing.

Fleury spoke earlier this week about the game against the Canadiens, saying how emotional and special it was going to be—and it truly was. During the game, the crowd at Bell Centre chanted his name during a TV timeout, which turned into an extended standing ovation that felt like it would never end.

Fleury went on to post a shutout in a 4-0 win for the Minnesota Wild, making several spectacular saves along the way. Having grown up just an hour from the Bell Centre, he was met with overwhelming appreciation and respect from both fans and opposing players in his final game there.

Filip Gustavsson’s awesome sign

The entire Canadiens team lined up for handshakes afterward, and the crowd erupted as he took the ice again after being named the first star of the game.

But it wasn’t just opposing players, coaches, and fans who honored Fleury that night. Filip Gustavsson, the Wild’s regular starter, brought a homemade sign and held it up proudly from the crowd. It was an absolutely wholesome moment, and fans couldn’t stop smiling when they saw it. Check it out here:
