The reported feud between Elias Pettersson and J.T. Miller has been the talk of the Vancouver Canucks this season. Now, the iconic Don Cherry shares his thoughts on the matter as he harshly criticizes the Swedish star forward.

Don Cherry is a legendary figure in the world of hockey, having spent 37 years as a member of Hockey Night in Canada. He was fired in 2019, and since then, he’s hosted his own podcast, Don Cherry’s Grapevine, where he shares his views on various NHL topics.

One of the most talked-about subjects in the league this season has been the alleged feud between Elias Pettersson and J.T. Miller of the Vancouver Canucks. According to reports, the two aren’t exactly best friends, and rumors suggest that the Canucks are exploring trade options for both players.

Don Cherry slams Elias Pettersson

However, Don Cherry isn’t impressed with Elias Pettersson’s NHL career so far. On his podcast, he harshly criticized the Swedish star, claiming no team would want to acquire him in a trade.
“Nobody would want him. He’s the third-highest [paid player in the NHL], and he had one good year,” Cherry said.

Elias Pettersson is currently earning $11.6 million per season, but this season, he’s only recorded 31 points in 43 games. Don Cherry added that if he were in the Canucks’ position, he would send both Pettersson and Miller home.
“Send them home. That’s the only way you can [deal with it]. Send them home,” Cherry said.
