Bo Horvat scores beautiful shootout goal against the Penguins

The Pittsburgh Penguins and the New York Islanders have both started the season below expectations, so when they faced off on Tuesday, everyone knew important points were on the line.

Heading into the game, the Islanders were ranked seventh in the Metropolitan Division, with the Penguins just ahead of them in sixth.

It was no surprise that the game was a tight affair with a dramatic ending. The game went to a shootout, where Bo Horvat scored the only goal to give the Islanders a 4-3 win over the Penguins.

Shootouts aren’t unusual, but it’s rare to see a more beautiful goal than the one Horvat scored on Tuesday.

New York goalie Ilya Sorokin denied Rickard Rakell, Sidney Crosby, and Kris Letang in the shootout. Horvat was first up for the Islanders and made a beautiful move, deking Alex Nedeljkovic before slipping a backhand under his pads.
