The Kelce brothers names the NHLer who could play in the NFL

With the NHL regular season well underway, hockey players were a topic of discussion on the New Heights Podcast with Travis and Jason Kelce earlier this week.

The popular podcast often discusses various sports beyond the NFL, and in their most recent episode, the brothers were asked which NHL player—past or present—could play in the NFL, and at what position.

Jason Kelce, a former NFL player who is now an analyst on ESPN’s Monday Night Countdown, immediately named Eric Lindros.

“Eric Lindros could play in the NFL,” Jason said.

“You think he’s a tight end?” Travis responded.

“He’s massive, man. He could have put on weight easily and played O-line,” Jason added.

The brothers also mentioned Jaromir Jagr, “with his friggin’ mullet,” but they highlighted one current NHL player who might have fit in the NFL: Claude Giroux.

Jason Kelce and Claude Giroux played in Philadelphia at the same time—Jason for the Eagles and Giroux for the Flyers—and apparently, Giroux would often challenge NFL players to arm wrestling contests.

“He’s feisty,” Jason said. “He used to come in and ask to arm wrestle anybody.

“Mentality-wise? Yes,” Jason continued. “Physically, ehh… we’d have to see about that.”

The Kelce brothers also mentioned Connor McDavid because of his speed and vision, but they weren’t too convinced Wayne Gretzky would ever have made it.
