If you can’t fix your hair during a fight, then what’s the point of fighting?
At the end of the first period between the New York Rangers and Los Angeles Kings, Brendan Smith and Adrian Kempe dropped the mitts. What started as a verbal exchange deep in the Rangers’ end, finished with Kempe protecting Trevor Lewis after Smith pushed Lewis from behind into the boards.
Smith and Kempe tangled for a few ticks before the gloves were off and the fists were flying. Kempe, in his first fight of the year, was taking a few shots from Smith. After his helmet fell to the ice, we saw Kempe’s hair flop around on his head. Kempe shook his head twice to get his hair out of his way. Once he realized that didn’t work, Kempe full on fixed his fair, leaving him exposed, even if it was a minuscule amount of time.
It just goes to show that no matter what you’re doing, there is always time to fix your hair. Could he get a haircut in the future to protect himself during fights? Maybe. But then we wouldn’t be able to talk about gems like this.
Los Angeles would come back to defeat New York, 4-2.
