For the time being, Jagr’s stint with the Calgary Flames will be put on hold after the Flames announced Jagr would be placed on injured reserve.
Jagr left Saturday’s loss to the Minnesota Wild in the first period and did not return. After breaking his stick on a slapshot, the 45-year-old veteran skated to the bench and walked to the dressing room. Before announcing Jagr would be placed on the IR, the Flames said he was being evaluated for a lower-body injury.
Being placed on injured reserve means Jagr is ineligible to play NHL games for seven days.
Jagr has two assists in five games this season.
