Brad Marchand embraces the hate – mocks himself with a personalized NHL controller

Brad Marchand is one of those players that you hate to play against but would love to have on your team. He is pesky, annoying, and in professional wrestling terms, a heel.

Over the years, he has embraced the hate from opposing fans and is relishing in his current role. If he was terrible at the sport, Marchand would be a plug. But, the forward from Halifax notched 39 goals last season. He’s tremendous on the ice and even on social media.

Someone not fond of Marchand’s antics created an Xbox controller with different buttons. On the controller, it had different options like slew foot (twice), blind-side hit someone and spear. We’ve seen it before with famous players from other sports like Ronaldo and LeBron James.

Rather than go on a tirade, Marchand showed the original post from Instagram and jokingly asked on Twitter if anyone wanted to play some NHL.

To fully embrace the hell mantra, you’ve got to know your audience. Of course, Boston fans highly supported the cheeky tweet, and even some haters could admit the post and tweet were funny.
