Brad Marchand is the gift that keeps on giving. He’s one of the NHL’s most colorful and polarizing players, and he always speaks his mind just about… everything.
Marchand is a controversial player on the ice, as he often tries with cheap shots and nasty things against opponents.
He has the most individual suspensions in NHL history and is not everyone’s favorite player. Some love what Marchand brings to the league, but the same amount of people also have trouble with his never-ending shenanigans.
Earlier this month, he made himself even more unpopular by slamming the city of Detroit. Marchand has spoken openly about how little of a fan he is about the NHL’s plans to place the NHL All-Star Game 2025 in Seattle, Edmonton, or Detroit.

He said on Twitter that few players would have the will to play the game if it’s in either of those cities and during a recent interview with Greg Wyshynski, he addressed the comment he made and took another jab at Detroit.
”Seattle actually has beautiful views. Edmonton has phenomenal hunting, so I love Edmonton. And then Detroit is … you know, suspect,” he said.
That’s harsh from Marchand, but Detroit didn’t have to take long to get their revenge. The Bruins faced off against the Red Wings early Sunday, and Detroit pulled off a huge upset as they won against the No. 1 team in the league.
After the game, the Red Wings couldn’t resist the urge to chirp back at Marchand with an A-plus mockery on Twitter.
As they posted a Tweet about them winning the game 5-3, they also wrote:
”Nothing suspect about this W,” which was an obvious comeback toward Marchand’s claims about Detroit being, eh, suspect, as Marchand would put it.
